Mellifera Farm invites you to come, stay and enjoy what most people describe as a small piece of heaven in the Western Cape. Situated just outside of Somerset West in a secure Eco Estate, with mountain biking, hiking, swimming on the farm and wine tasting right on your door step. We offer a technology free get away.
The Mellifera cottage is described as peaceful and well suited to families “this holiday home is a haven of peace. It was the most relaxing place we stayed during our stay in Cape Town and surrounding area. Very important detail for us, two bins of toys allowed us to have very busy children!” Sophie (from Germany 2016)
There are amazing other attractions right on our doorstep:
- Wonderful walking/ hiking trails.
- Zip Lining through the mountain passes in Grabouw – only 30 minutes drive away
- The Wedderwill game reserve and bird life (see photos) – i have added these to the drop box
- Stay here and explore the following in the area including excellent golf courses, beaches, whale watching, fishing and wine estates all within 50Km radius from the Farm.
- There is free WiFi for those who need to stay connect.
We have changed our accommodation policy and have moved to a long term rental model for the next while.

Mountain biking and hiking
Mellifera farm has some excellent bike, trail running and hiking trails all within the greater Wedderwill estate, for the past two years, the Wine to Whales Mountain bike race has pass through Wedderwill. A few minutes from Mellifera farm is the True Grit Mountain Bike Park as well as the Schapenberg Mountain bike Trail. Both of these offer mountain biking for the inexperience through o the professional rider.
Wedderwill estate has some wonderful walks through the game reserve and to small waterfalls. Take some time out and enjoy nature at its best.
